Cook Islands:
Activities & Tours
Despite Rarotonga’s small size (31km all the way round),
there is quite a number of things to do. The island is a small Polynesian
world in itself. There are inland tours in the picturesque mountain
scenery, all sorts of watersports on the beach and in the wide lagoon,
fishing in the sea beyond the reef, tennis, golf, restaurants, bars,
Polynesian culture show, music and dance.
At least one of your day trips should be to one of the outer islands.
Aitutaki
is on top of the list, for it is one of the most beautiful atolls
in the South Pacific, complete with picture book lagoon and beaches.
Atiu should
be in second place, an island which you can visit daily by airplane.
Atiu doesn’t have spectacular beaches, but interesting rainforests
and distinctive geological features.
There are affordable all-inclusive packages available from travel
agents in the Cooks.
